Car ablaze on Lambourne Road police investigation ensues

Image
Fire service and police investigate a burning vehicle on Lambourne Road. At 2.30am on Tuesday 26th January a local resident was woken by his security alarm after he initially heard a loud bang. When the resident got himself up and exited his home to see what had caused the commotion, he saw that a vehicle was on fire opposite 52 Lambourne Road.  The resident immediately called both the fire service and emergency police.  The resident noticed that there were Jerry cans and unknown items in a black bag near the blazing car.  Moreover the car could not be opened without breaking the glass of the windows so must have been locked. Mr Chowdhry our Chairman is in direct contact with the district policing team and received the following response from PC Walker. Dear Wilson Chowdhry,                      "This matter is still under investigation. It is yet to be established if this was a vehicle defect, accidental or arson. There were no injuries caused as a result of this fire." Rega

Red sky in the morning shepherds warning - Chigwell beware of giant snowwomen!

Image
As we were out very early the beautiful sunrise became more visible as we drove away from Chigwell.  This image taken from Romford Road (Redbridge section) By Hannah Chowdhry Residents of Chigwell woke up to one of the most beautiful mornings of late.  Our sky was a myriad of red, yellow and orange colours and many locals placed some stunning images on social media. My father and I were up early and while driving to visiting some of his clients venues we were able to stop on the A127 and take a picture from one of the overpasses.  The location we chose  had one of the clearest views of the gorgeous sky.   From the A127 you could see a simply magnificent deep red sky We hope local people were inspired by the gorgeous sky yesterday and were disappointed that images we had of Chigwell Row in the morning only had a thin line (as we set off very early). Fortunately we have some beautiful examples of the delectable sky above Chigwell that others have shared: Image from Samantha Battles from
