Thames Water Says Repairs Are Complete — But Chigwell Residents Enter Fifth Day Without Water
Thames Water says repairs to multiple burst mains have now been completed and that water supplies are being restored. But for many residents, including Chigwell Row Residents Association Chair Wilson Chowdhry and his household, the crisis is far from over. After days of disruption, Thames Water announced at 8:55pm on 12 August that repairs on High Road, Daisy Road and Chigwell Road had been completed. The company said engineers were now “carefully recharging the network” to increase pressure and restore water to remaining customers. Thames Water is working towards all customers being back in supply by Friday , although it says many will have their water restored sooner, depending on how quickly the network recovers. That distinction is important. The repairs may have been completed, but the water has not yet returned to everyone.
