Red sky at night Chigwell's delight!

Anyone from Chigwell who was out late yesterday afternoon, would have been simply mesmerised by the sunset that dominated our already gorgeous skyline.

Sometimes, I wonder if local people ever realise how lucky we are in this beautiful Parish. I lived most of my life in Ilford and for me the place of my birth and development is still awe inspiring and special - despite what anyone says...

But there is a magical intense beauty about Chigwell, which is not only derived through it's 'green and pleasant land' but also through it's proximity to our capital city. Once called 'Little London' (Durolitum) by the Romans our little Parish has always had a colourful history (not just during double-rainbows)

Charles Dickens fell in love with the area and often frequented the Maypole. But you have to wonder did he ever see a sunset like this...

There is a very famous old adage that goes:
"Red sky at night - shepherds delight.
"Red sky in the morning - shepherds warning!"

It seems like God is sending us another message of hope as we begin a new period of lockdown.  Let's see if we can all inspire each other like we did  during the last one.  Please share any images or thoughts you want to share with the community and we will post them on our blog.  God bless us all.

The night was quite pleasant too with a mysterious mist that engulfed us in peaceful tranquility.

CRRA wishes you all well during the second of a potential series of mini-lockdowns.

Some local residents  have also shared some stunning images from this morning:
