As the UK prepares for a second lockdown a wonderful moment of inspiration was seen above Chigwell and Hainault, when a rare beautiful double rainbow dominated our skyline.

After a short posting about the phenomenon and an image shared on our blog, we were astounded by the number of positive comments received from the local community. Read original post (here)

It seems many of us were awestruck by the wonder of God's creation or natures beauty, whichever you prefer.

One of the most memorable comments on the Nextdoor app in response to our previous post, was made by Sue Jay, of Buckhurst Hill.  She wrote:

"I was driving down palmerston road and witnessed it but knew that if I pulled over and stopped to get my phone camera it would be gone.

"It was magical and I am very glad you caught it on camera. Made me glad to be alive."

Today is the last day of freedom for many of us before we enter what will be another difficult lockdown. We hope the gallery of images we display below will inspire some of you, as we again put our trust in the NHS and the many essential workers who will help to maintain us through these unprecedented times.

Please continue sending your images to us, so we can enlarge this gallery...
