We have received the following message from Epping Forest District Council and share it with you:
Staff shortages due to coronavirus at our waste
contractor Biffa may mean disruption to some residents normal recycling
and rubbish collections.

|
We are working extremely hard to ensure that the
service continues as close to normal as possible.
Prioritising recycling and black bin collection
We are prioritising recycling and black refuse bin collections over
green-lidded food and garden bin collections. If your food and garden bin
is not collected please take it in until your next scheduled collection
day.
In Epping and North Weald on Wednesday we were unable to collect all the
recycling. If your collection was missed please leave your recycling sacks
on the boundary as normal and we will collect them as soon as we can.
Make sure they are secure so your recycling does not litter the road as
we are unable to clear spillages at the present time.
Cardboard boxes should be flattened and left under your recycling bags so
they don’t blow away, or placed inside the bags if they are small.
Recycling Christmas trees
Real Christmas trees are being recycled throughout January. Leave it with
your green-lidded garden and food waste bin. If it’s over 6 foot, cut in
half and remove the pot and all decorations.
Recycling and rubbish collections
It is difficult to predict how recycling and rubbish collections will be
affected in the next few weeks. We will continue to monitor the situation
very closely along with Biffa.
Residents can find the latest information on our website and on social
media.
