Crime update for Chigwell and Grange Hill

Epping Forest Police have asked us to share a local report of crime in Chigwell and Grange Hill.  The report introduces our new beat officer PC Phil Cattaway, has an introduction from District Commander Ant Alcock a crime update that reports back on speed checks that were undertaken on Lambourne Road, burglaries, vehicle thefts, drug dealing and catalytic converter thefts.  There is also some good advice on how to report crimes and much more.

Their report also invites people to attend a live Facebook chat opportunity in May:

    Does that crime include the invention of what may appear to be bona fide organisations and claiming to be their chairman when the entire scheme is bogus? Surely that's more usually known as deception and/or fraud?

Multiple Victims Stabbed by Sword-Wielding Attacker Following Van Crash into Hainault Residence

Police have now secured a cordon around crime scene. In a swift response to a critical incident, emergency services sprang into action at Hainault Tube station. Here's a rundown of the key moments: At 9:01 am, reports emerged of a stabbing incident in Hainault, Redbridge, resulting in injuries to four individuals. The unsettling event unfolded at Hainault Tube station in Redbridge, Essex. What the Dickens, is going on in Chigwell?

At the end of our journey local history buffs congregated under the Dickens Oak. Please join our rapidly growing community facebook page   (click here) On Saturday 5th December 10 people from Chigwell and the surrounding area travelled across the various sites in Chigwell Row and Chigwell Village that had a connection to the world famous author Charles Dickens.  Initially people met just behind the car park of the Maypole pub The tour began at the Dido Oak in Hainault Forest accessible via Sylvan Way.  This is a veteran oak (old but not quite ancient a list of definitions can be found here ) that was once made famous in Tatler Magazine back in 1903, due to an article about the Hermit of Hainault, a man named William Bell otherwise known as Dido who once lived in the forest under the cover of some sackcloth.  In his pocket he carried herbal roots, snakes, newts and anything else he could make money form.  Apparently he used to say: 'They call me Doctor Bell, Because I make my patien
