At last some progress with Streetlights on Romford Road and road repair on junction with Lambourne Road

 By Wilson Chowdhry

Some of you will have noticed the blue barriers around the extremely unsafe pavement on the junction of Lambourne Road/Romford Road.  I have been advised repairs should be completed by end of next week and will be of a more permanent nature than last time.

I have also received an email confirming the fault regarding the streetlights has now been found and that repairs should be completed soon.  It would seem that delays were caused due to COVID-19 infections.  Here is the correspondence received via the Streetlighting team:

Good Afternoon

My apologies for the delay in responding. I have been off unwell since early December, however I have looked into this today and have found that our investigations identified a cable fault. This is with our Supply Chain Partner for repair. However they will need to excavate and statutory information regarding underground services is required. Once they have obtained this and prepared the job pack, work for the repair can be scheduled.

Kind Regards

[Name redacted] Street Lighting Technical Assistant

I hope that has been of use for you all.
