RE: Consultation of Changes to Epping Forest Community Transport School Transport Fares.

This update was received by CRRA from Epping Forest Community Transport. If you use their school bus service please take note of the contents.

Epping Forest Community Transport (EFCT) was set up in 2001 to meet the transport needs of residents in Epping Forest delivering a reliable, high-quality, service to those with restricted access to private and/or public transportation.

As a small charity relying on volunteers, donations and grants, costs are kept to a minimum and prices have remained unchanged since 2016.

In these challenging times, all Community Transport schemes have struggled with providing services to the community when our financial income has dropped to virtually zero. The charity is losing nearly £40,000 a month in supporting the community.

Regrettably, the extra costs created by the day to day booking variations is costing the charity considerable administrative hours. Therefore, sadly that we have had to review our pricing structure to ensure that we can continue to deliver the same efficient and effective service whilst still providing excellent value for money.

From 1st February 2020, the fare structure charged by Community Transport for school transport will be:

Payment will regrettably be required on a term-by-term basis, invoiced monthly, payable by bacs or alternatively by telephone using debit/credit card to Epping Forest Community Transport.

·        Transport will be Monday – Friday (5 days) @ £3.00 per day = £15.00 per week.

·        No reimbursement will apply to unused journeys.

·        No charges will incur for school holidays or inset days.

Failing to pay invoices within our terms of 14 days, will result in loss of use of the school transport.

EFCT would like to hear your views for and against this proposal by Wednesday 30th December 2020 by contacting the above address.

Please can you confirm by e-mail to efct@efcommunitytransport.org.uk that you are happy to continue your child’s transport service at the new pricing structure.

Yours faithfully,

Epping Forest Community Transport.
