Daylop Drive pothole hangover

Residents of Daylop Drive have had to suffer a 'hangover' of a walk due to the loose and broken nature of their pavement area for the last few years. Despite several reports to Essex Council the pavement area seems to worsen with time due to the constant neglect and the highway team's insouciance.

During a visit with a highways officer responsible for street cleansing and weeding, who walked with our Chairman Wilson Chowdhry across Daylop Drive, it was explained that the weeding team would not scrape the moss from the pavement as it would dislodge the already crumbling surface.

The moss and loose rubble have now become dangerous slip and trip hazards and the increasingly cold weather, threatens to exacerbate the situation.

Mr Chowdhry has today (11 November) reported the entirety of our street to the highways reactive team to consider for necessary remedial works.  The reference for this report is: 2688059

A huge lip on this utilities cover creates a trip hazard.

  1. Highlighting Daylop Drive? Does not that amount to self-interest? Chairman (self-appointed) of so many things one has to wonder whether there is time for the day job.
