Please do not be alarmed but infection rates in Epping Forest and consequently parts of Chigwell have worsened.
Data on the today's Government infection rate portal suggest Epping Forest has had 118 infections

Based on a 7-day rolling rate per 100,000 residents, Epping forest has seen a rise of infections by 43.9% with a current rolling rate of 89.7. 118 Residents in total have been infected within Epping with most of Chigwell marked in a dark blue colouring with other parts of Epping, indicating we are becoming more of a hotspot. It would seem Epping Forest is still below the national average - but only just!
We share this message so local people are more alert to the rise of COVID-19 and are able to better protect themselves. Please do wear face-masks when travelling outside to protect and continue to observe our current social-distancing guidelines.
Yesterday the portal was breaking down data into more discrete local areas. Now data is only being provided for the whole District. Even then not all parts of Chigwell are a dark blue and that is indicative that Chigwell Row is an area where we must all be much more protective of one another.
