Thefts and burglaries reported on our CRRA Security Whatsapp group have increased since the COVID-19 lockdown eased.

A brand new BMW 2 Series (5 days old) was stolen from the drive of a homeowner near The Maypole on 1st August 2020.

In September a series of residents were concerned about potential bogus-callers.

On 4th October a resident reported that a car parked near the new developments by Hainault Golf Club, was broken into and had goods stolen from it.

On 7th October a  catalytic converter was stolen from a car on Millers Lane:

The vehicle was noticed by some men in a silver car around 2.45am

They returned within minutes and removed the catalytic converter (made from expensive metal components)

To discuss the best way to protect ourselves and tackle the rise in crime head on, we have organised a Chigwell Row Zoom meeting for Tuesday 20th October at 7pm. Details for joining the meeting will be shared next week.

After the initial 30 - 45 minutes we will be discussing other community matters.  Visitors who simply want to discuss crime are welcome and can leave whenever you feel appropriate.  The meeting will be limited to 1.5 hours.
