Chigwell Row +70's self-isolation support up and running

Today Chigwell Row Residents Association completed their first +70's self-isolation community support effort.  For a local resident we collected some prescription medicine from Lloyds Pharmacy and also posted a letter.

We are hoping that this news will trigger more local requests, as we have a growing list of DBS checked volunteers who can help.

Hannah Chowdhry, who helped with the delivery and collection of the prescription medicine, and posted the letter, said:

"I am really pleased our first support service has been successful and hope it will encourage others to seek help.

"I know there are many elderly people that are unaware of our team of people who are prepared to give up time for them.

"Whether it is a shopping errand you need done, collection of a prescription, posting of a letter or someone to talk to - simply get in touch."

Wilson Chowdhry, who liaised with the elderly resident, said:

"We were very fortunate to arrive at the pharmacist at a time when there was no queue.

"The woman we helped will no doubt have been surprised with the expedience of the service and pleased with the result.

"We hope all local families are coming to terms with the lockdown and finding positive ways to engage with themselves and others whilst observing guidelines for self-isolation."

  2. That's at least two blogs where that picture of the letterbox has been used. The other one was 17 December 2019

  3. Why is it that when one clicks on "April 2021" on the index a blog comes up dated 30 April 2020? Are you cheating?
