Chigwell family share messages of support for NHS and condolences for victims of COVID-19on community message wall

A Chigwell family have shared messages of support for the NHS on the wall of All Saints Church, Romford Road, who have offered their perimeter wall for community prayers and messages, while the UK is in lockdown.

The messages which were prepared by Hannah Chowdhry (16 yrs), Naomi Chowdhry (12 yrs) and Leah Chowdhry (9yrs) were a result of a family discussion during mealtime.  The Chowdhry family were so moved by the death of a 13 year old child from Brixton who became the youngest victim of COVID-19 on Monday (click here), that the children wanted to do something to mourn for a life lost so young.

Naomi Chowdhry, said:

"The death of Ismail Mohamed Abdulwahab at such a young age was worrying for me.

"At first I thought young people were quite safe.

"His death is so sad.

"he was only a year older than me and because of Coronavirus, will now never see adulthood.

"I am praying for his family."

Hannah Chowdhry, wrote a prayer for the NHS after hearing about the first doctor to die in Essex from Coronavirus (click here).  She said:

"Our doctors and nurses are so brave.

"They put their lives at risk to make sure we are safe and to help those infected fight the disease.

"They also have to deal with the aftermath of a death and are the first to respond to families of the deceased - they are all real-life heroes!

Leah Chowdhry the youngest of the sisters, wrote a prayer for the NHS and also for the families who have lost loved ones.  She said:

"It makes me sad to hear about so many people who have died.

"Many people will be crying.

"I hope God gives them peace."

Father Wilson Chowdhry, who is Chairman of the Chigwell Row Residents Association, said:

"It is deeply saddening to hear of the large number of deaths that Coronavirus has caused in the UK.

"The latest figures indicate 1789 people have died from the disease with  over 500 deaths registered yesterday.

"It is essential that people follow government guidelines on self-isolation, social distancing when necessary to leave the home and to regularly wash your hands.

"Life is precious and we must reduce the spread of Coronavirus and its effect on us personally and on our community by taking mutual responsibility.

"We have no idea how long the lockdown will last and through this time it is essential we maintain our sense of community.

"With that in mind we challenge people to add their messages to the All Saints perimeter wall, which will act as a beacon of hope through the torrid time we are all yet to face."
