Abandoned vehicle inconveniently parked on Daylop Drive turns out to be stolen

Local residents reported an abandoned vehicle obstructing the pedestrian footway on Daylop Drive, via the community Whats App group on Tuesday 10th March.  On hearing the concern our Chairman Wilson Chowdhry contacted local police to report the potentially abandoned vehicle.

On Thursday 12th March a 'Coffee with Cops event was held at All Saints Church and a local resident also reported the vehicle to local police and later that day police could bee seen parked near the vehicle.

Mr Chowdhry approached police the same day and was told that they were removing the vehicle and later one of our board members Dave Porter  was told by a police officer that the vehicle was stole from Ongar in Essex.

The vehicle was later removed and taken on a pick-up truck.  Our community really needs to pat itself on the back for the communal effort that has helped return a stolen car to its owner, while restoring access to a safe pedestrian footway.

Our community Whats app group is proving to be an effective tool against crime.
