Pudding Lane repair work completed but little has changed.

On January 10th Mr Chowdhry reported the dilapidated state of Pudding Lane to Essex Council's Highway team after 5 vehicles crashed on the road on Saturday 4th January.  He was advised that an assemement would be undertaken in an immediate email.

On Wednesday Mr Chowdhry was sent a standard email stating an assessment had taken place and that it was not high on the list of priorities but would be scheduled for repair on their next works timetable.

Rather bizarrely on Thursday Mr Chowdhry receive a further three emails, the first said the works were to be scheduled following inspection. The second only 3 hours later confirmed works had begun.  The contents of thirds is displayed below for your perusal.

Reference Number: 2649812
Issue: carriageway defects
Location: PUDDING LANE

Current status: this issue has been made safe

We have investigated, risk assessed and recorded the issue, and initial works to make it safe have been completed. A further assessment will be carried out to establish whether a permanent repair is required in the future. Thanks for helping us keep Essex roads in the best condition we can.

Regards,

Essex Highways

We are wondering if anyone has noticed which works have been completed as several potholes still exist and the edges of the road still have the dangerous large and deeep crevices. Moreover, the dangerous growing crack in the road structure still seems to be there.  Please contact us on wilson@eastilfordbettermentpartnership.org if you know what work has been completed.
