Gravel Lane police chase leads to 'false plates' vehicle crash and arrest of three young men



Local residents were forced to reroute their journeys on Gravel Lane after a blue road sign stating 'Police Collision' and several cones essentially closed of the road just past Aspen House. Later we discovered the incident occurred after a police chase of a suspect vehicle.

Alerted by ANPR recognition of false license plates, local Essex Police pursued a silver volkswagon Golf along Gravel Lane, however during the ensuing car chase the suspect car crashed into an oncoming car while traversing a bend.

Three young men were arrested and held by police at the entrance to Aspen House, for failing to stop for police and then later taken to hospital for medical assessment. Its is believed they have nio serious injuries.

The two passengers from the other vehicle were were treated by London Ambulance Services at athe scene, after first being extracted from their vehicle by London Fire Service. Its is believed that injuries to both passengers are not critical.

Police enquiries are continuing into this live investigation.
